Measuring staff performance has always been an area of much controversy and a dreadful experience for most supervisors and managers. Simply put, it is not easy to satisfy everyone.

In Latin its innovationem or innovare and back in 1540 it came from the word innovatus which means ‘to renew or change’ (IN meaning ‘into’ and NOVUS meaning ‘new’).
In a recent book by an MIT Professor the startling statistic was revealed that in the 1920’s the life expectancy of a US company was 65 years, today it is less than 10!
There is a time to be humble, yet there is a time to be assertive and take action. There is a time to ensure perfection yet there is a time to go for speed and simplicity. There is a time to smile and a time to get serious, a time for discipline and a time for spontaneity. Great leaders know when the right time to alternate between contrasting leadership traits. Decision-making based on context and situation lies at the heart of great leadership.
The last two decades have been witness to events which are quite progressive in the direction of ‘globalization’ – be it at Governments’ policy levels or societal practices levels. Viewing the scene on global travel, with more airline companies – esp. the low cost ones – crowding the skies there is considerable flow of people of diverse ethnic groups around the world.
Courage evolves through openly inviting and boldly seeking its cultivation (“Genius in Gray Areas”). Organizations that focus on the value of continual learning commit and recommit themselves to their imageworkforce to form productive and accountable relationships.
